RE-MIND: A Mindfulness-Based Capacity-Building Model for Digital Wellbeing and Intergenerational
Audience Engagement in Museums

RE-MIND is a transnational cooperation project that aims to develop a sustainable, mindfulness-based museum experience and capacity-building model that enhances digital wellbeing and intergenerational audience engagement, addressing the pressing challenges in digital wellbeing, intergenerational inclusion, and audience engagement. In a time of increasing digital overload and social disconnection, museums must adapt their educational and outreach practices to remain relevant, accessible, and socially impactful.
Through the development of a scalable and transferable model, RE-MIND introduces mindfulness-based approaches to cultural engagement, helping museums become calm, inclusive, and emotionally supportive spaces for all generations—particularly children, Gen Z and older adults. The project will co-create a Mindful Museum model, deploying Smart Learning Ecosystem with micro-credentialed training for museum professionals, intergenerational audience engagement guidance and a series of interactive national Showroom Events and tailored intergenerational workshops and educational sessions. Recognition of RE-MIND Ambassadors and labeling Mindful Museum through endorsement protocol will position professionals and institutions to the map of recognized best practices at the European and international level. Partners from Serbia, Italy, Croatia, Poland, Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and North Macedonia will collaborate to produce open-access toolkit, a Mindful Museums Network Portfolio, and a roadmap for sustainability and institutional endorsement. RE-MIND bridges research, education, and cultural practice, creating a lasting European framework for socially responsive and digitally balanced museum experiences. It empowers museums to thrive as agents of wellbeing, resilience and intergenerational solidarity in the digital age, ensuring they remain relevant and accessible to all generations in the overwhelming digital age.
